1. The service
ScaleScout (“we”) provides subscription-based business research reports: prospect lists, competitor analyses, market studies, international expansion briefs and weekly market watches. Reports are produced with automated research tools from public web sources.
2. Account
You must provide a valid email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. The service is intended for businesses and professionals.
3. Subscriptions, credits and payment
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment provider Stripe, at the prices shown on the Pricing page, in US dollars, plus applicable taxes.
- Each plan includes a number of credits per 30-day period. Unused credits do not roll over and have no cash value.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from your billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and you keep access until then. Partial periods are not refunded unless required by applicable law. If a report fails for a technical reason on our side, the credits used are automatically returned to your account.
5. Nature of the reports
Reports are provided for information purposes. Although we cite verifiable sources, reports may contain errors, omissions or outdated information. They are not legal, tax, financial or investment advice. Verify important information before making decisions.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service for illegal purposes, to harass anyone, or to send unsolicited communications in breach of applicable laws (such as CASL in Canada, CAN-SPAM in the US or the GDPR in Europe). You are solely responsible for how you contact prospects.
7. Ownership
You may freely use the reports generated for your account in your business. The website, the ScaleScout brand and the software remain our property.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the previous 3 months. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or business opportunities.
9. Changes and termination
We may change the service, prices or these terms. Price changes apply from your next billing period after notice by email. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
